Volunteer for the Global Clean Air Campaign

Join remotely and globally in a science-based public health initiative led by the Science & Wellness Organisation to prevent disease, protect lives, and advance clean air worldwide.

Clean Air Saves Lives.
Your Action Can Help Protect Millions.

Air pollution is one of the leading causes of preventable disease and premature death worldwide. It affects people silently during daily activities, at home, at work, and even during sleep.

The Global Clean Air Campaign is a science-based public health initiative calling for global action to protect lives, prevent disease, and advance clean air as a fundamental health priority.

We invite individuals worldwide to join this effort as volunteers.

"The combined effects of ambient air pollution and household air pollution is associated with 7 million premature deaths annually."

- World Health Organization (WHO)

Sources of Air Pollution

Air pollution comes from both ambient (outdoor) and household (indoor) sources.

Household (indoor) sources include:

  • Cooking and heating

  • Lighting with kerosene

  • Burning fuels

  • Boiling water

  • Preparing animal fodder

Ambient (outdoor) sources include:

  • Vehicles

  • Industrial activities

  • Power plants

  • Construction

  • Waste burning

  • Fires

Both indoor and outdoor air pollution often result from incomplete combustion and chemical reactions between gases, exposing people continuously often without visible warning.

Explore how household air pollution and ambient (outdoor) air pollution affect health, the key pollutants involved, and why there is no safe level of exposure for some pollutants, according to public health evidence.

5 Reasons to Be Part of the Global Clean Air Campaign

1. Protect Lives & Prevent Disease

Help address air pollution as a major public health risk and contribute to preventing avoidable illnesses and premature deaths worldwide.

2. Be Part of a UN-Recognised Initiative

The campaign is led by the Science & Wellness Organisation (SWO), a UN ECOSOC–accredited organisation focused on health, prevention, and impact.

3. Work with Global Scientific Partners

Support a campaign strengthened through collaboration with NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and Microsoft, ensuring strong scientific and technological credibility.

4. Create Real Community Impact

Play an active role in public education, awareness, and engagement by helping turn science into clear, practical messages people can understand and act on.

5. Inclusive, Flexible & Global

Open to all backgrounds, with remote-friendly and flexible opportunities to join a global movement advancing clean air as a health priority for all.

Why You Should Join &
Support the Global Clean Air Movement

1. Air pollution is a silent killer everywhere

Air pollution causes millions of premature deaths every year, affecting children, pregnant women, the elderly, and workers often without warning. It does not respect borders, income levels, or countries.

2. Small actions, massive impact

Small contributions help fund awareness, data transparency, and prevention. When millions contribute a little, large scale protection becomes possible for entire communities and future generations.

3. Prevention saves more lives than treatment

Most air pollution related diseases are preventable. Clean air reduces asthma, heart disease, stroke, lung cancer, and childhood pneumonia before people ever reach a hospital.

4. Clean air is a human and health right

Supporting this movement means standing up for clean air as a basic right just like clean water and safe food especially for vulnerable and underserved populations.

5. Global support creates global pressure for change

When people worldwide unite governments industries and institutions are forced to act. Public support turns science into policy awareness into protection and data into accountability.

6. You don’t need to be a scientist to save lives

By joining or contributing you help translate science into action education awareness and prevention that ordinary people can understand and use.

7. Your support today protects tomorrow

Cleaner air today means healthier children stronger economies lower healthcare costs and fewer lives lost tomorrow.
